Co-founder Shannon Celano, a Western rider all of her life, began to bake homemade treats for her much loved pets and four-legged friends. The aromas pouring from the kitchen enticed her unsuspecting family. After feasting their eyes on the visual appeal of these tasty delicacies, they soon became the first taste testers. From that, A Horse Of Course Gourmet was born, offering fine gourmet treats for horses. The business became so popular, it soon branched out into a line of premium gourmet treats for dogs, Gone to the Dogs.

Enter co-founder Kim Domenicone, a long time participant in the equestrian community and a prominent English hunter/jumper rider for more than 25 years. Kim and Shannon quickly discovered a common bond through their love of animals and Shannon's home-made, gourmet horse and dog treats. Kim and Shannon's ideas, creations and experiences from their respective equestrian worlds combined to create Petafour Bakery and Boutique.

Encouraged by friends and family -- not to mention the many animals on their respective farms -- they set out to bring Petafour's unique pet treats and products from Shannon's kitchen to your home. No animal or owner will be forgotten by Petafour's gourmet treats, novelty products, gifts and accessories.

Not only was Petafour Bakery and Boutique formed with the thought of spoiling your four-legged friends and creating fine products for their faithful owners, but also with the desire to assist the wonderful people and organizations that rescue abused and neglected animals and provide heath care and constant research to ensure the best quality of life for these animals.

After many years of working in the veterinarian field, Shannon saw first-hand the abuse, cruelty and neglect animals suffer everyday. After Kim lost her best friend Zorro to the devastating equine disease

founder, she earnestly sought a way to contribute to equine health research. This is a major reason they donate products not only for all animals to enjoy, but also helping raise money at fundraising events. Each sale we make helps allow us to contribute to these wonderful organizations. If you or your organization is interested, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Shannon must give credit to Shaman, her appaloosa, Coney her miniature horse and her Boxers, Ellie and Grace along with her farm animals and all of the faithful companions she has owned in her life for giving her the inspiration to create Petafour Bakery & Boutique.

Kim’s inspiration is not only from the loss of her warmblood horse Zorro, but also the love of her Neapolitan Mastiff, Penelope, her dog Jake, a terrier mix, Ollie, one of her favorite horses, Putt Putt and Elma, miniature horse and donkey, Olivia, Oliver and Oscar, her miniature pot-bellied pigs and the rest of her loved menagerie of horses and farm animals.

By odd chance, another pot-bellied pig has been added to Kim and Shannon's collection of friends, coincidentally enough named Petafour. She is one of many mascots and inspirations for starting the creation of a pot-bellied pig line for all the pig lovers out there.

From the beginnings in Shannon's kitchen -- making pet treats that looked too good for her family to resist -- to today, Petafour Bakery and Boutique's commitment to quality products and helping animals has never changed. In the coming years, they will continue their commitment to creating premium, all-natural gourmet treats and fine products for pets and people alike, all the while helping prevent animal cruelty, suffering while aiding health care research and giving a voice to these majestic animals that can not speak for themselves. We are their voices.
